I am a Receptionist at the Auckland City Hospital. Following a stroke 4 years ago, I've only just been able to return to some sort of work and an opportunity came during COVID-19.
AUCKLAND SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
I first became involved with ASO when Gary Daverne (the conductor at the time), rang to see if I would play as they needed cello's. I had previously been a member of North Shore Youth Orchestra with Gary as conductor and have enjoyed every rehearsal and concert since. My role in the orchestra is keeping track of the money. What I love about the ASO is the sense of family among the other players and the variety of concerts and challenges. My favourite memory with the orchestra is our trip to China in 2007 - it was fantastic, tiring but really great fun.
Outside of ASO I am a Girl Guide Leader of Pippins 5 to 7 year olds.
