Member for 40 Years
I have been in my career for over 50 years. I was interested in medical research from a young age. Someone at school suggested that I should go to University and I studied Chemistry, Mathematics and Philosophy. Then I had a chance to change fields and do a PhD in molecular biology. At the end of my degree I accepted an invitation to work on experimental medical research in Basel, Switzerland, for 2 years. Then I was asked to join a cancer research group in Auckland.
AUCKLAND SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
I first became involved with ASO through invitation from the previous conductor. What I love about the orchestra is the friendly environment and the excellence of the conductor. A favourite memory for me was our trip to China- what an amazing experience.
Playing baroque chamber music, travelling and working in Europe, drawing and painting, reading.
