Primary School Teacher

I decided to train as a primary school teacher having discovered that I loved working with children and the sense of being able to provide opportunities that had the potential to make a difference! I enjoy being able to provide opportunities for children to experience music in a variety of contexts as well as being able to nurture potential and encourage a love of the arts.

I first played with the ASO about 25 years ago when I joined the orchestra for a year. I wasn’t able to continue after that initial year, due to other long standing musical commitments, but was delighted after a long absence, to be invited to join the orchestra for a second time about ten years ago. And the rest, as the saying goes, is history! Playing with the ASO, is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. I feel very fortunate to be able to share in the joy of playing such an incredible array of music with so many of my long standing friends and talented fellow musicians, who love music just as much as I do.

When I'm not playing my violin or teaching, I love to shop and have a particular passion for shoes! I'm always on the lookout for my next 'must have' pair! I enjoy reading and belong to a book club. I also like to cook for family and friends and am always keen to try out new dishes.
